WE SHALL BE Artists

Stuart Langley – Public Art Commission

Stuart creates collaborative, large-scale works with light, sculpture, and installation. His work draws on utopian ideas where aspiration, comfort, and transaction blur: from capitalist-coated theme parks to Japan’s kawaii aesthetic, he is interested in the motivations behind surface level amusements.

Influenced by the absurd glamour of John Waters and Divine David, the surreal theatrics of ’80s fantasy films and everyday decay, his output encourages a belief in alternative realities. Embracing visual language as a way to connect, his work seeks to create moments of magic – offering pause from the everyday and a fleeting sense of presence, freedom, and hopeful escape. A temporary antidote to the weight of rules, expectations and uniformity.

His work has been shown internationally including Klanglicht Graz, Durham Lumiere, Canary Wharf Winter Lights, ilight Singapore and Nuit Blanche Brussels.

Nick Blaney – Mural Commission

Nick Blaney, aka Good Night Vienna is an abstract artist, designer and mural painter based in the UK. His work explores the themes of language, the built environment and geometric shapes. Nick’s background in graffiti culture provides an influence in his creative practice, where he incorporates language, words, and abstract letter forms into his paintings.

Through deconstructing the shapes and forms of letters he strips them back to minimal objects and textures. By merging these new elements with colour, he creates alternative compositions that result in new aesthetics.

Nick has collaborated with numerous artists throughout his career, creating captivating murals in various public spaces which contribute to the artistic and urban landscape. Commissioned works include bespoke murals for The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Westway in North Kensington and Multi-Stories Street Art Festival in Southampton.
